Randolph’s Leap have returned to their original home, Olive Grove Records, to release Cowardly Deeds – 10 tracks of joyous, raucous, indie pop music.
Anyone who has been to a Randolph’s Leap gig knows the energy the band exude on stage, and this has been encapsulated perfectly by recording the album with the full band playing live.
This energy is most notable in the fast paced, 8-bit inspired, Not Thinking, and a reworked version of old favourite, Goodbye, which is full of some great rhyming couplets and uplifting trumpets (see what I did there??).
Recent single, the stripped back Under the Sun, and fun, upbeat Back of my Mind couldn’t be more different, yet both have that memorable chorus you’ll find yourself singing along to.
The all acoustic, Aberdeen, brings a more gentle note to the album before closing track Saying Nothing slowly builds into a rousing finale as the 8 piece indie-orchestra go full pelt. Long live the Leap!
Randolph’s Leap will launch Cowardly Deeds on May 20 at Saint Luke’s in Glasgow.
